Morristown write-up by Bill Young.

Morristown this Thanksgiving was a great race. It has been a few years since I went to a Thanksgiving race. There were 177 motos and almost 900 riders. Great turnout. 4 racks of pros. 3 I believe of Pro women. Percy Owens and Rachel Smith won on Saturday. Harley Kelley and Melissa Gremal won Sunday. The track was great. The first turn was much taller and bowled better. The first turn still is the decision maker at Motown. There was a step-up out of the gate that was a screwy distance. You had to stop pedaling about a bike length from it or you would wrong foot it. The rhythms were perfect. They were smooth and formed perfect.

Andy Belsterling made his main on Saturday. I don't know how. Every time I looked up he was soil sampling. Pete Wolfinger made his main on Saturday. Of course he had perfects. He did not race on Sunday. I had 4ths in motos and a 4 th in the main on Saturday. I did not make it on Sunday, but got 1 more point than Saturday. Jesse Heath, x-team rider, looked pretty good in motos. If fact it was the best I have seen him race in a while. Tim Huff challenged Jesse to a flex off. Huff won. Huff announced and had perfects in motos for the weekend. He had 4 th and 3 rd in mains.

There wasn't much drama that weekend. Hyper had new uniforms, as did Radd Racing and Felt. Moto Filler did not. And yes Stuart the bathrooms do stink by 10 am. They need B-I-G exhaust fans. It was cold Friday, warmed up Saturday and Sunday. The traffic home SUCKED. Knoxville to Chattanooga was bumper-to-bumper 15 MPH max. That in itself will make me think twice about racing Thanksgiving again. But I will be there spring.

You can find pictures at wiregrassbmx.

grands

The 2005 NBL Grands is over and done and man was it fun! It looked like we were in for a flood and once again the weather gods saw fit to give us a clear and wonderful weekend.

Team Moto Filler had a reasonable weekend with several of our team mates bringing home the Gold as well as some decent numbers to boot! Standouts were Pete Wolfinger who laid waste to his class getting a perfect for the weekend and #1 for the second year in a row! Congrates Pete you deserve it. Brandon Pyper is our newest member and unfortunately for us the only one without a jersey at the grands, it would have been great exposure. Last year his nerves got to him and he just couldn’t quit pull it together, this year he new exactly what he was doing and rode like a man possessed! Anyone paying attention even got to see Brandon doing a little elbow banging both in 20” and cruiser mains! His mains were two of the most exciting of the weekend without a doubt! Brandon brought home two great finishes as well as two top numbers in his classes. Todd Langdon in his first year racing a 20” in 20 years made his main and placed second as well as got the #2 plate for the year. Andy Uptain rode one of the best races of his life only to meet the squirreliest guy in 35 & Over Novice in his semi. This meeting cost Andy his transfer spot but I still think he was happy with the outcome for the weekend. Welcome to Expert! The rest of the moto fillers were actually playing there part at the grands and could not get out of their respected motos. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do it just wasn’t meant to be.

Overall it was a good weekend. Team Moto Filler would like to give a special thanks to Todd Langdon and Taylor White for all the hard work they did to get the track ready. It was fast and smooth and we saw nothing but great racing all weekend. We look forward to the trip again next year. Bill we hope you feel better soon and join us for some more fun!!

Click on the photo below for a random assortment of pics from the grands.

August 31

Team Moto Filler would like to wish everyone going to the NBL Grands a safe and fun filled trip. Good luck to everyone we will see you there. Just look for the HRP and Team Moto Filler banners.

Also we hope that everyone made it through Katrina in one piece.

August 29

It seems Old Bill Young is mad at me because for someone without a fulltime job I have not had time to wish him well after his hernia surgery and colon cleaning. Here is the email I received after his surgery:

Well I now know where I stack up in team moto filler. I lay here doped up on Loratab, bloated with gas I am unable to pass and dreading my 1st bowel movement. Yet no mention of my dire situation on the website. My balls are black, I have an ice bag in my pants now and I am drinking coffee made with Gatorade.

WHERE IS THE LOVE???????????????

Papa Smurf you know we love you and we hope you'll be able to hang with us at the NBL Grands and slide through the mud!

August 8th

Well it seems Pete had a good time at the Worlds in Paris. Unfortunately he was taken out in his first moto by two Frenchmen going for the inside line. He was able to make it to his 1/4's but just couldn't pull it together again to get any further. Pete is currently on the injured list and taking it easy till the grand’s. Send him a get well email. Here are a few pics for you.

July 17th

Well I am being hounded by Papa Smurf to update the site! So since I should have done this already i and the Team would like to wish Pete Wolfinger good luck at the Worlds. Bring us home a #1 Pete! For those of you that don't know Pete is National, Regional and State #1 in 55 & Over Cruiser and he used to be on the U.S. Downhill team and was National #2 in his class! Give em' hell Pete and Show them that being a Motofiller doesn't mean you are in the back of the class!

July 4th

We would like to welcome Brandon Pyper in the 30-34 expert class to the team. Hopefully he will make a nice addition to the team. If nothing else he has brought us up to the magical number 13 for our team members! Now we can rule the world!!!!!!
Evansville was tough, not to mention HOT!! Well maybe it was tough because it was hot. Anyway Todd hurt his shoulder (that makes 5 team members hurt this season) and I got a wakeup call! My first race as an Expert let me know real quick that it's time to train and it really showed that I haven't been riding much. Well I have 8 weeks till the Grands lets see what I can do. Oh and Russ is up and riding, although gingerly, he is in training and recovery mode to get ready for East Moline. I have pictures from Evansville and will try to get them up somewhere.

June 23rd

Good luck to everyone going to Evansville!

June 11th

Wow it's been awhile since I did any kind of an update! Someone should have told me I was slackin'! Anyway for your viewing pleasure I have a few pics from a recent session held at Andy Uptain's house. Also proof positive that an old bald man can ride a pit bike!

session

May 9th

Well it seems everyone had a great time in Ft Walton for the latest NBL Regional. Unfortunately this makes the third race in a row that a motofiller has gotten injured. Jesse Heath has broken his collar bone "again" and will be out for about six weeks. This puts 4 of us on the injured reserve list. Taylor, Russ, Jesse, and Fluffy! Although Taylor and Fluffy should be just about back at it by now.

May 6th

Well all it took was for me to get sick to get the website updated. Lots of new pics are up as well as Pete's bio. Fluffy's bio will come soon I hope. Wish me a happy birthday I turn 36 tomorrow!

May 5th

Ride Montgomery is holding another contest. Go check it out and support your local scene!

May 4th

Update for the Russ fans. His collar bone is broken in 4 places! He will be out for a total of 12 weeks. For those of you that haven't seen the wreck or weren't there I have the video so email me. I don't think Russ would want it on the website, it is one ugly wreck!

April 30th

Update from Nashville!!!!

Matt the "little devil" Uptain gets a perfect on day one! Todd gets third for the day, Russ cased the step-up and fell from 1st to third for the day but was looking real strong and Andy Uptain gets a third for the day. Team had a real good showing lets hope they can do it again tomorrow! Everyone call or email Russ and tell him to get well soon! He broke his collar bone Sunday in Nashville.

April 16th

Ok I know I am behind on my updates and I apologize to you all. The Moto Filler garage sale at the Oak Mountain Regional was a huge success and I thank all of you who showed up to help us out. The team now has a positive bank account!
We wish to welcome two new riders to the team. Jonathan “Fluffy” Combs 16X and Pete Wolfinger 55 & Over Cruiser. Pete is currently national #1 and is one hell of a rider for an “old man”! Just messin’ with ya Pete we are glad you finally said yes.
The Oak Mountain Regional went off pretty well, the track was a little damp for the pre race and for Saturday’s practice but it dried out quickly and we had some decent racing even though it was a very low turnout. Taylor wrecked in his first moto as an Expert and broke his left heel of all things. Hopefully he will be back on his bike soon. Andy Uptain completely wasted the 35 & Over Novice class, and Todd Langdon showed everyone why he should be Expert. He was getting killed out of the gate and then passing everyone through the rhythm like they were standing still. We should have had Russ on the team sheet since he was riding like a man possessed all weekend. Russ had a real good showing. Matt Uptain rode like the little devil that he is and made both his mains. Must be following in dad’s footsteps, or is that the other way around? Bill Young rode well for an old timer that hates doubles and took some great pictures of us. Andy Besterling looks like he has been training, except for the time he let teammate Jesse Heath Hi-Low him in the last corner. I think that covers my week late update for now. Oh in case you haven’t heard Barry Nobles is no longer riding for Welham. I do not know if he has a new sponsor or not but I will be sure to pass along the news as soon as I hear it.
I hope to have Pete's and Fluufy's bio's up soon.

April 6th

The Oak Mountain Regional is almost here! We hope to see you all there and be sure to come by and by some parts to help support our team!
I want to congratulate Todd and Matt for getting there pictures in the April issue of BMX Today. Way to go guys!

March 29th

Team Moto Filler will be holding a BMX "junk" sale at the Oak Mountain Regional to try and raise some funds for the team. We need your money folks so please come buy and help us out!

March 13th

We would like to welcome Jesse Heath to the team. Check his Bio for more info.

The opening day at Oak Mountain BMX was yesterday and we had a great turnout! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Team Moto Filler had a product toss to help get the year started off right. Special thanks to Ride Montgomery for their support.
Team Moto filler has started something new with the money open at Oak Mountain. We along with Welham Bikes and Cady Shack Racing will be handing out an added bonus pot to someone in the main that doesn't place in the money spots. Brantly Wiggington won yesterdays pot. Hopefully this will help to get more people to race in the open classes. Of course Barry Nobles won the Pro/Am open But John gave him a real run for his money!

March 7th

You can check out a vid of Wild Bill Young winning his cruiser main on Sunday at Morristown. It is his first National Perfect! Just go to his bio page to check it out. Props go out to G-MO of vintageBMX.com for the vid!

Feb. 23rd

NBL NATIONAL IN VEGAS HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED!

Feb. 15th

Ok team member bios and photos are updated so have a look.

Feb. 14th

Well Team Moto Filler had a great weekend in Dothan, Alabama for the NBL Southern Charm National. As a team we finished 6th on Saturday and 3rd on Sunday. It was a great weekend for racing even though the turnout was kinda low. Standouts for the weekend include Todd Langdon putting the smack-down on his class with a torn calf muscle! Taylor White with 2 perfects (he is now EX). Matt Uptain coming from behind to take 3rd, and his dad Andy Uptain racing the best I have ever seen him look with 2nd on Saturday and 3rd on Sunday. Bill Young dominated the old guy cruiser class with an easy second. Russ Thompson had a great weekend and should be close to meeting his goal for the year. I have pics and will get them up sometime today.

Feb. 9th

In case you're not a member of Vintagebmx.com or you missed this thread you have to check out this movie. It is hilarious!

By the way we are still in the hunt for a female rider, no Elite women (sorry) and she must race NBL Nationals.

Feb. 7th

Changed the gallery page for easier viewing and navigation. Hope you like it.

Feb. 4th

There will be a scheduled gate practice Sunday Feb. 6th at Oak Mtn.

Feb. 3rd

Are you planning on heading to the Dothan National this month? If so you just might get to witness this great feast!

Quoted from the man himself:

I (HRPdesigns.com) and several of my teammates from Team Moto Filler are planning on having a cookout after the final mains on Saturday at the Dothan National, (basically late lunch, early Dinner), at the track and I am inviting all vintageBMXers that will be at the National and all that are running an HRPdesigns number plate.

The Eats should be located right behind wherever the Team Moto Filler Banner and HRPdesigns banner ends up. Hopefully, around the Starting Gate area, if not there then maybe the last straight.

The menu will be burgers and dogs, with a few deer burgers courtesy of Schanewolf's rider Vanncann, and probably chips. After all this is coming out of my racing budget.

Jan. 29th

Workday Jan. 30th at Oak. Mtn. has been canceled due to rain.

Jan. 10th

Lots of news today! First i would like to welcome Fly Racing to our growing list of sponsors. At least now we may actually look like a team!

Now i would like to show you how Todd and Taylor spent last weekend. We made the 4 hour trip to Augusta Ga to build Pete Wolfinger a practice track. And if i say so myself it turned out quit nice. Pete will soon be seen completly destroying the compitition! Check the pics!

Jan. 5th

Most of our Welham frames are in and man do they ride great! Easiest bike I've ever tried to manual! And they are Chrome, it's almost impossible to get a chrome frame these days. Pictures of the frames are up on the Welham site, you should check them out!
